A dusting of stars upon dim shores

Post stuff I like and for future reference. I don't follow many Tumblr's since it makes me anxious having to look at so many posts but you are welcome to follow me. :)

Clockwork Forest by greyworld.
The forest is often the mysterious location of secret stories, of distant sounds from hidden camp fires, of secret meetings and unexplained sounds.
In The Clockwork Forest, we have created the first chapter of an untold fairy tale.
Just turn the key and the mechanical soundtrack will accompany your journey in to the forest. Video of it here.
Commissioned by the National Forestry Commission, this installation opened on the 7th October, 2011 in Grizedale, England.

Fragile by Roadsworth & B. Armstrong.
A beautiful garden set up in a shopping centre in Montreal made up of entirely recycled/waste products.
“The Montreal Eaton Centre was transformed into ecosystem using by-products selected in its containers and recycling generated by the daily activities that take place. The plastic water bottles, cardboard boxes, hangers and paper cups are just some of the basic materials of the facility trying to return these items as a kind of original form, pre-processing.”

Optical (2007) by Stuart Haygarth.
The Optical chandelier is created from over 4500 prescription spectacle lenses. The lenses are hung on monofilament line which hang from a platform. The lenses form a spherical shape which imitates a disco mirror ball but rather than the light being reflected, the light is refracted through the many layers of glass lenses. A magical explosion of light is created. The light is illuminated by a clear 100w incandescent bulb.
